It’s our guilty pleasure. Late at night, when no one’s watching… we open the world’s greatest portal to gourmet food!
Ok, ok… sooo, we travel. A LOT! And in our travels, we’re blessed to come across some incredible people. On our first leg to New York last month, I sat between two of the coolest people. RARE. We talked about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness without taking as much as a breath before the plane landed. Gaggan, one of the darlings by my side, is a total foodie. We bonded instantly over all things delicious, and as a parting gift, he left me with theeee world’s greatest portal to gourmet food! Yes. I know I already said that, but it bears repetition! And if we’re going to get real, I’d call this site a collection of some of the world’s yummiest CULINARY ART.
I come from a home of chefs. Our kitchen was a staple. Everything important was shared over food, and our kitchen essentially took on the role of a living room. We laughed, we cried… it’s part of who we are as a family. I loooved cooking while I lived in Italy… the ingredients were like nothing you’d ever find here, and it was such a huge part of the culture! But it’s been less than a joy the past few years. As I reflected life and business in 2010, I came to many conclusions about BEING BUSY and how much my habits have taken away from my quality of life – another tangent for a later post! As part of 2011, I want to cook more and ALLOW myself to enjoy it, as opposed to seeing it as a huge waste of time. There’s beauty and love in a meal that you’ve made from scratch, and I want to be more connected to my food. Is that weird?
There’s a point to this rant. I think.
For Marcus and me, a good meal is like your favorite song on repeat, full blast with your car top down (not that we have a topless car…). It just feels so good to eat a satisfying meal, and soak it in to the last sigh! For the last three months, I’ve been on a gluten-free diet in attempt to decrease the frequency of my migraines. It’s been difficult extracting a lot of staples in my diet, but it’s forced us to think outside the box in creating meals that are still delish! With the help of g-free blogs, it’s been a cool adventure.
The site I’d like to share with YOU is not about gluten-free foods, but is an infinite collection of images found throughout the web. The dishes are colorful, creative, fresh, and unique! The BEST part? Clicking on any of the images will take you to an in-depth explanation of the food and its FULL RECIPE! GAH. If you love food even half as much as we do, this may be dangerously addicting.
