Far off the beaten path and hidden inside a gate of grandeur proportion sat Casa China Blanca, a fabulous glass villa resting comfortably on the coast. Once inside, laughs echoed leading up two flights of stairs to the wide open, split level master. The girls busied throughout having hair and makeup finished, sharing bottles of champagne, and sharing stories from the night before. The gaping windows and doors stayed shut to keep Mexico’s humidity out. Lauren looked as if she were floating across the rooms, completely relaxed, ready and so, so happy. After munching on fresh guacamole, she took an occasional trip downstairs to see all of her ideas and dreams coming to life, piece by piece. The hand-strung flower chuppa rested from the ceiling and orchids began filling the vases delicately placed within the room.

Soccer blared from the tv in the Westin’s villa where Elliot and his closest guys reveled in his last moments of bachelorhood. Their cheeks hurt from the relentless laughter and the energy and excitement for the day was shared by everyone involved. Elliot couldn’t wait to see his bride, and the venue which he would also be laying eyes on for the first time. Dad helped him in his beautifully crafted custom suit, and they departed to the biggest day of his life.

Emails, pictures, websites… ’tis the life of a destination bride, and Lauren had come to know no other way of planning her wedding. But Puerto Vallarta, Mexico could not have been a more perfect destination for Lauren and Elliot who share such fine taste and fun spirits. Friends and family poured in from all parts of the country to enjoy paradise and the extravagant wedding soiree of the year. Guests were carried onto the dancefloor by the sounds of the band, then awed by fire dancers and spoiled by donuts and the most outrageously delicious late-night taco stand you ever did see. The night was full of surprises and memories these two and their closest friends will hold onto forever.

Elliot + Lauren :: Thank you for bringing us on your adventure and allowing us to capture what we knew would be incredible. You, your friends, and your family were so good to us. We’re fans for life! We looove you!!

Lauren’s Oscar de la Renta gown was to die for – especially paired with those sparkly Jimmy Choos!

Lauren and Elliot were adorable as they saw one another for the first time! Whistles and claps from their friends filled the background.

They are SUCH a gorgeous couple!!!

Lauren… you are just stunning.

Clearly, Elliot brought his mob with him.

These ladies were gorgeous and SO.MUCH.FUN!

Dazzling Details did an outstanding job with decor, planning, and holding the night together! You ladies are phenomenal!!!

I mean, really? Is this place real? When Marcus and I spotted Casa China Blanca in the movie, “Limitless”, we knew we’d be visiting something very, very special.

The food was exquisite AND pretty!

I think the party started as soon as everyone woke up for the day. We loved all the dancing!

XOXO!!! Don’t miss out on their ‘Day After’ session later this week!

April 20, 2012

They’d roll their eyes, look the other way, and let out deep, long sighs if the other was present. They couldn’t stand to be in the same room together. Yes, “they” are Abhishek and Payal – the now beautifully married couple. You’d never guess that two people, so obviously meant for one another, loathed each other at the start.

They say it was their passion for music that ultimately pulled them together and never let them turn back. And anyone that knows the two, would probably agree. Abhi and Payal are a creative powerhouse. They’re into graphic design, culture, music, filming, and art – but it’s the “doctor by day, filmmaker by night” persona that we just love, love, love about Abhi. They’re dream chasers, and we can’t wait to see where life takes these two!

Payal came to Chicago from the UK in her teens, and has grown into such a stunning woman. Her soft-spoken words almost cast a spell over Abhi, and the two together, just. make. sense.

We photographed Abhi and Payal’s engagement photos and massive engagement party in New York almost two years ago. It was wonderful to see the families reunited again, celebrating at full force. WE LOOOOOVE YOU and your families, and are so grateful to call you FRIENDS!!

ALL of the garments and jewelry came straight from India.

I could not have been more enthralled with Payal.

What an incredibly stunning bride!!! In love with this. And her.

Abhishek looking amazing in his custom made sherwani!

He was super legit with that sword.

SO perfect together!

Their precious puppy, Pepsi, came along for the celebrations! Tuxedo and all!

The groom’s Baraat!

After the ceremony, they changed into their evening reception attire. They have such fun style.

Abhi is always lookin fly in his suits!!

What an amazing weekend of events!! XOXO

I love the vibrant colors, but you use SO MUCH blur on close ups that I’m always distracted by it. That bride is gorgeous and doesn’t need any blurring. :)

January 6, 2012

The alluring notes of a mystical Iranian song seeped under the doors of the girls’ room at the Four Seasons. Through a crack, you could see women in every corner with lush, dark hair and beautifully bright eyes readying themselves for the wedding. Kat scurried to set the final details of the ceremony that she had been so involved in creating, and after she took a deep breath, sat in her makeup chair, and looked around, she started beaming with anticipation.

Down the hall, the boy she met and fell in love with at a Persian gathering, couldn’t wait to see his bride perfectly wrapped in white. His groomsmen “clanged” their glasses with loud excitement as different languages echoed across the room.

Omid’s parents and sister had traveled in from Iran. They looked around with such pride in their son and admiration for his sweetheart. Then Kat’s father saw his only baby girl, walking out to see her groom for the first time, and placed his hand over his heart. She was, indeed, a stunning sight to behold. With tears in every eye, he kissed her cheek and disappeared to the side so she and Omid could experience their first look.

So much love filled this wedding day. Laughter infiltrated every conversation and arms were constantly swirling in the air as guests danced for hours and enjoyed hookah in the shade.

Kat and Omid :: WE are still glowing from your wedding. Your family was so gracious and loving, and their kind words and care are something we’ll take with us forever. And you. YOU! You two are absolutely wonderful to be around, laugh with, take ridiculously awesome photos of, and call friends. We love you two!!!

I hope Kat felt like a celebrity all day, because she certainly looked like one.

Cutest flowergirl ever?

Omid was completely rested and sharp that morning! So handsome.

Kat and Omid decided to share in a first look. I remember the butterflies I had in my stomach as I walked out for my first look, and I still get butterflies watching my brides do the same. So special.

This image kills me. Is it weird that I want to put them over my fireplace? They. are. perfect.

The FLAWLESS makeup was done by our favorite, Ashley Nicole.

I caught them practicing their first dance because they were nervous. SO CUTE!

The traditional Persian ceremony was so detailed and intricate. It was wonderful to witness.

Huge thank you to Kelly from the Four Seasons who helped everything run so smoothly.

Parents, sisters… so much love and good-looking-ness.

These girls… AH! So stylish and gorgeous!! ALL OF THEM!

Omid’s dad throwin down his moves with everyone else!

XOXOXO!!!
